Important announcement about closure due to Coronavirus Read the September update
Aiming to re-open in January 2021
The latest regulations and guidance on Coronavirus/Covid-19 make it clear that restrictions on people mixing and carrying out activities in public venues like The Bridge are going to be with us for a long time yet.
Whilst closed, the Board and volunteers have been doing what we can within the guidelines to ensure that the building and facilities remain safe and secure, comply with existing and new regulations and maintaining the grounds. Thanks are due to all supporters who have helped with this either at The Bridge or from home.
Over the next three months work will be done to various floors so they are easier to clean to the standards required, new sinks will be installed in the Studios that don't have them and additional electrical power sockets installed in locations where there are none or not many currently available. When all of this is complete a full deep clean of the building will be carried out.
As a result, and whilst local restrictions are tighter in some areas than in others, the Board have taken the decision not to re-open until January. At that point, if things don't get any worse in the meantime, we hope to open with as full a schedule of activities as possible. We will provide further updates on this over the coming months.
Thank you for your continued support of The Bridge and we all look forward to seeing you back with us as soon as possible.

The Bridge provides a vibrant community led venue to support artists and encourage visual arts involvement for Darlington. Many artists who had a presence at the Darlington Arts Centre can now be found at The Bridge Centre. It is also the home of other arts-based organisations.
